Therapy Rates
Rates
I offer free 15 minute phone consultations to see if we’d be a good fit to work together.
I charge $140 per 50 minute individual therapy session. In certain circumstances, you may qualify for a lower rate.
Accepted payment methods
I accept payment via e-Transfer and all major credit cards.
Accessing your benefits
I do not partner with insurance, but instead provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Following each session, I offer a receipt with appropriate details for you to request reimbursement from your insurance.
Many employers and extended healthcare benefit providers will cover the services I provide. I am a licensed practitioner in Ontario. If your benefits cover Registered Psychotherapy, you may be eligible for full reimbursement. I always suggest you inquire with your provider to see what your unique plan entails. I hold the following designation:
1) Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
Registration #: 15851
Some questions I recommend asking your insurance company:
Does my extended health benefits include mental health benefits? How much coverage do I have?
Do I have a deductible? If yes, how much and have I met it yet?
Does my plan limit how many sessions I have per year? If yes, what is the limit?
Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for therapy to be covered by my benefits?
Additional FAQs
What if my rate is not accessible for you?
I am a firm believer that anyone seeking therapy should be able to access it with minimal barriers. So, I am happy to help connect you to a therapist that meets your financial needs if I am not able to. Please reach out for more information on this and to see my availability for sliding scale!
Cancellation policies
Since the scheduling of an appointment involves the reservation of time set aside especially for you, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required for rescheduling or cancellation of an appointment. If for any reason a session is cancelled less than 24 hours prior, the full fee will be charged.
Late to sessions: All sessions have a specific time, with clients before and/or after your appointment time. Therefore late arrivals will not receive an extension of time for their scheduled appointments and the original session fee will be charged.
Good Faith Estimate Notice
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
